Bismuth is a brittle metal with kind of an iridescent color. It is used alot in cosmetics, pigments and a few pharmaceuticals.Because some compounds are visible with x-rays, it is also used to coat tubing and plastics used in medical devices.
Bismuth is mined, with rich resources in Australia, Bolivia, and China. However, Bismuth is primarily a byproduct of lead, copper, and tungsten smelting.
