The two key industrial sectors in Indonesia include mining and manufacturing. In 2014, a law was passed that banned exports of nickel, aluminum and copper ores to force firms to build smelters in Indonesia.  This impacted the supply of material driving prices up. Mining made up about 6% of their GDP, which dropped to 4% after the law was passed.
